Over the past decade, new oil plays have unsettled U.S. energy landscapes and imaginaries. Settling the Boom studies how the disruptive forces of an oil boom in the northern Great Plains are contained through the extension of settler temporalities, reassertions of heteropatriarchy, and the tethering of life to the volatility of oil and its cruel optimisms.

Boom's flights will be between coastal cities, because overwater routes inflict no supersonic booms on anyone except the fish. So we're talking about a niche within a niche. Still, overwater flight is a big and profitable slice of the pie, and it's precisely on such long routes that speed matters the most.


The Complete Series Blu-ray collection is currently on sale on Amazon, and even includes a unique Steelbook. Despite Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric game getting a poor critical reception, by contrast, the cartoon series spin-off boasts a seemingly good reaction from most Sonic fans.


If you want to experience the hilarious series all for yourself, you now can, and with an excellent collectable Steelbook to top it all off. This Blu-ray + Steelbook collection was originally released in March 2022 for $59.99 but has already come down to just over $36 a month later.


The collection includes both Series 1 and 2 of Sonic Boom across a five-disc Blu-ray set, and is available to order right now at Amazon. There are also special features included, such as Sonic Boom vs. Final Animation, original trailers, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and subtitle support. Considering it will cost you around $20-25 to buy each of these seasons separately, I think this is a great deal.


While transformation of the major monocot crops is currently possible, the process typically remains confined to one or two genotypes per species, often with poor agronomics, and efficiencies that place these methods beyond the reach of most academic laboratories. Here, we report a transformation approach involving overexpression of the maize (Zea mays) Baby boom (Bbm) and maize Wuschel2 (Wus2) genes, which produced high transformation frequencies in numerous previously nontransformable maize inbred lines. For example, the Pioneer inbred PHH5G is recalcitrant to biolistic and Agrobacterium tumefaciens transformation. However, when Bbm and Wus2 were expressed, transgenic calli were recovered from over 40% of the starting explants, with most producing healthy, fertile plants. Another limitation for many monocots is the intensive labor and greenhouse space required to supply immature embryos for transformation. This problem could be alleviated using alternative target tissues that could be supplied consistently with automated preparation. As a major step toward this objective, we transformed Bbm and Wus2 directly into either embryo slices from mature seed or leaf segments from seedlings in a variety of Pioneer inbred lines, routinely recovering healthy, fertile T0 plants. Finally, we demonstrated that the maize Bbm and Wus2 genes stimulate transformation in sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) immature embryos, sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) callus, and indica rice (Oryza sativa ssp indica) callus.


Where the book falters is its interconnection with the concurrent Power Rangers series following the new team of Omega Rangers. A plotline introduced in the first issue is resolved off-page and only discussed in passing which is especially frustrating isolated here in a trade collection. While the conflict and character work is compelling, the abbreviated nature of this volume, only four issues, is more unsatisfying than intriguing for the pricepoint.


The Bell X-1, piloted by U.S. Air Force Capt. Chuck Yeager, reached 700 mph on Oct. 14, 1947. At Mach 1.06, it was the first airplane to fly faster than the speed of sound. Hyderabad: The Telangana state government saw a spike in revenue collections totalling Rs 1 lakh crore this month-end, owing to a real estate boom collections from excise, and GST. The higher collection will help government fund welfare and development programmes in its own.


As a result of improved revenue collection, the Chandrasekhar Rao-led BRS government was able to continue its welfare drives despite the Centre imposing restrictions on loans, which resulted in a loss of nearly Rs 40,000 crore for the state.


The government expected total tax income at Rs 1,08,212 crore in the 2022-23 budget, a 16 per cent increase over the revised estimate for 2021-22. The data obtained from the finance department show that the government realised Rs 81,000 crore in tax revenue collections and Rs 9,000 crore in non-tax revenue collections by November-end, totalling Rs 90,000 crore, and it is expected to surpass Rs 1 lakh crore mark by this month-end.


In non-tax revenue, the state was estimated to generate Rs 25,422 crore, a 13 per cent increase over the revised expectations for 2021-22. Of this, Rs 15,500 crore was estimated to come from the sale of land and property. The real estate boom in Telangana has significantly increased the state's tax revenues.


During spill responses, sensitive locations are threatened by oil slicks, but these areas can be protected by using specialized equipment, such as oil booms. An oil boom, also referred to as a containment boom, is a temporary floating barrier designed to contain an oil spill. Oil booms reduce the possibility of pollution on shorelines, rivers, and oceans while collecting oil in thick surface layers to allow for easy recovery for your company.

We manufacture a full line of oil spill containment booms for all applications and environmental conditions, including conventional booms, air-inflated booms, self-inflating booms and permanent booms.


The primary purpose of a containment boom is to contain and limit the area which has been impacted by a hydrocarbon or chemical spills. A floating boom's performance is determined based upon buoyancy, roll response and heave response within a given application to contain hydrocarbons or chemicals generally during a spill event. These application factors will better determine which is the right containment boom design and options using several evaluation criteria.


In accordance with local, state and federal guidelines a containment boom can be used on most bodies of water based upon using the correct boom selection criteria and deployment techniques to properly contain a hydrocarbon or chemical spill.


Several criteria are utilized for proper containment boom selection to include water body classifications (ASTM F1523 or OPA 90) which is based upon wave heights and conditions. These determine the basic physical design requirements including overall boom height and reserve buoyancy. Additional considerations would be a boom's roll response in currents; heave response in waves; freeboard height and skirt depth and forces on the boom which will require a review of oil boom strength.


Oil booms should be cared for in accordance with an operations and maintenance manual where the boom is preferably not exposed to sunlight, harsh weather conditions or rodents which can damage the boom fabric. Additional considerations would be the boom stack height; secured on pallets to avoid abrasion; properly cleaned after deployments and repairs made if any operational damage in accordance with repair kit instructions.


Depending upon deployment requirements, boom accessories can include tow bridles, handles, repair kits, anchor kits, rope, lighted buoys, shoreline anchors, storage boxes, boom reels, deployment rollers or pads and other potential items based upon the location requirements.


Oil spill containment boom effectiveness is based upon a proper evaluation of the location conditions and utilizing the selection criteria for the correct containment boom which includes a review of the float/skirt heights, tensile strength and reserve buoyancy. Following the proper deployment and containment guidelines should result in proper boom containment performance in most cases.
